Mobile Phones for Overseas folk

Hi everyone,
I'm from NZ and have a Vodafone phone which won't work on the course.
Has anyone solved the problem of how to get a Telstra Next G phone from somewhere? Rental?

The competitor briefing doesn't say vodafone phones can't be carried although there is only limited coverage. I'm taking mine. I guess if you want voice communication and not just occasional text messaging then it sounds like a Telstra Next G phone is the way to go - whatever one of those is! I'd be interested to hear about cost, availability etc
