Do Skins count as "thermal pants" or must they be polyprop/merino thermal pants?

thanks

Skins are great to run in but you will still need to take a pair of thermal (polypro / Merino) pants.  This is because thermal material will help to keep you warm if it is wet whereas lycra pants do not.  The thermal pants are really in case of emergency, if you are injured or lost on course or if the weather really comes in.  The Blue Mountains towards the end of May can get snow.

I hate to spoil the party but Polypro isn't going to do it for us - It keeps us warm (when aren't doing much) but it def does not wick away our sweat. In-fact, it will sits on your skin a lot heavier and make cause you to feel even colder.
Merino does the trick perfectly but the down side is it is expensive.

grab as much this weekend from teh shops (most place still have easter sale and ends this sunday ; MD, KATH)

Not spoiling my party Keith! I love my merino thermals and don't mind adding the tights to my collection now at all!

So are a pair of winter running tights ok?

Plus who is giving the official line here and who is just commenting?

You must have a pair of thermal pants.  You don't need to run in them but you must at least carry them.  If your winter running tights are thermal tights then they will meet the criteria.  If they are just thicker lycra they will not.

Hi,

Does anyon know if the Salomon Momentum II Tight satisfies the thermal criteria?

Apparent the fabric is actiTHERMâ„¢ stretch poly knit, so is it safe to assume yes?
