Hello to the organisers,
This looks like a great event!
however I think we are all still a bit in the dark with info about the race.
Can you please post details on what aid (if any) there is on course, will there be water at checkpoints?
Does any part of the entry fee go towards a charity or towards the RFS?
Is the trail  marked all the way, or do we need to be savvy with a compass and map?
Thankyou, and sorry for the bombardment of questions, but I know there are others wanting to know this info also.

There are 5 checkpoints along the way at approximately the 12km, 33km, 53km, 73km and 91km points.  Support crew can access all these checkpoints other than the first one at Narrowneck at the 12km mark.  At the checkpoints there will be water, Endura energy drink and food available at all checkpoints. Food available at checkpoints will include and assortment of fruit, Bounce Balls, Carboshotz gels, Duck Nuts packs and fruit buns.

If you don't have a support crew we will take a bag for you to the checkpoints at Dunphy's (33km, 53km) and Echo Point (73km).

The trail is marked the whole way.  We will however provide you with a map and course descriptions which we suggest you take with you.

There is no one charity that this event is aligned with however some participants are using this event to raise funds for a charity of their choice.

Hi,
Just another question on the aid stations. Will there be transport to and from the check points. I.e. for teams of two will the first runner be able to return to base once they have completed their leg of the race. If there is transport between check points, can team members move to other check points as support for the other runner?

Runners will need to provide their own transport.  For teams of 2 - the second runner can drive a vehicle to the change over point and the first runner can drive the vehicle back.  Other than the Narrow Neck checkpoint, support crew can go to each checkpoint.  Transport will not be provided by race organisers.

Hi to the organizers,

Not real pleased with the changes re the support crew. This may be OK for experienced runners who intend to run the entire 100 (although its probably not ideal for them either) but for my partner and I this was to be a 50/50 relay with her doing the first fifty. We've trained hard and i believe we will do well, but it will be testing for both of us. It would be nice to be able to give support to the person completing the first half of the 100 as i'm sure they'll need it as much as the person completing the second leg.

regards

I understand your issue but there are various access issues including private land and safety on roads.  As the course now has to run along Megalong Valley Road instead of Mitchells Creek Fire Trail, we can not have cars and runners on the same route.  There are feed stations along the way.  This event is a tough one.  It is meant to be a solo challenge and you are meant to be self sufficient for your part of the run.  You will appreciate it more at the finish!

Alina,

Can you advise why a bag drop is not provided for at CP4 Echo Point (63km). I thought this would have been an ideal location (accessiblity) & duration for many to eat dinner (of sorts). Cheers, Craig

No probs. I thought the pairs was intended to be like a team situation where you would be able to provide support for each other throughout the race. My mistake, I will widthdraw my entry. Thanks

For those people without a support crew who intend drop off supplies at CP3 & 5, when will our gear be able to be picked up post race?

We will endevour to bring the bags back to the finish as soon as we can.  The bags from CP3 should be back at the finish early Sunday morning.  The bags from CP5 should be back by 1pm if not earlier.

Also, to answer a querry about not allowing a bag drop at CP4 - Echo Point, an event has never before had permission to pass through Echo Point.  as a result the impact we can have there is very minimal as we are not permitted to interfere with the tourist trade.  Therefore we can not have a large area set aside with boxes, bags etc.  Perhaps in furture years we might get permission for this.

Thanks for the speedy reply Alina. Understand re Echo Point.

With the bags at CP 5, would it be OK to pick up the bag personally from the CP. I ask this as I have a 50th birthday party to attend on Sunday lunch. Sorry to ask these questions.

Hi Alina,

I'm not able to hang around after the race, and won't be able to get back up there on Sunday arvo. Will I be able to pick up my drop bags from the Fairmont on another day?

Thanks,
Ben

Sorry Ben.  All bags need to be picked up by the sunday afternoon.  If they have not been brought back to the Fairmont by the time you need to leave you can go and pick them up yourself from the checkpoint.  You will just need your race number to show the bag is yours.
