Hi,

I have most of the equipment listed on the kit list from other events but:

a. Does my jacket really have to have a hood? This will mean replacing the one I have?

b. Does thermal tights...not lycra...mean long-john type wool tights please?

When will the runners brifing be available please?

Looking forward to running...

Hi Jamie,

I am sorry for the slow reply to your post.  Just to answer your questions regarding the compulsory equipment:
Yes your jacket does need to have a hood.  I am sorry if that means you need to buy a new jacket but we just can't stress enough that this gear is to help get you safely through the event if the weather turns bad.

There are many materials that thermal underwear can be made of.  Wool, polypropylene, capillene etc.  These things are only this but will help to keep you warm even when they are wet unlike materials like lycra and cotton which will pull the heat out of you when they are wet.  Thermal underwear pants are indeed often referred to as long-johns.  If you are confused please go to any Paddy Pallin store.

The runners briefing will be available on this website 3 weeks before the event.

If you have any other questions please email me directly on tom@arocsport.com.au

Cheers,

Tom
