Hi All,

Still looking for an entry but training as though i ma in already (and on the waiting list)....how much of the track is non-runnable due to stairs or scaffolding (if any) in various parts?

Assuming that most of the track is runnable?

.. a very difficult question to answer!! .. how fit are you?  .. essentially the whole lot is 'runnable', but I remember seeing Kilian Jornet walking on some parts of the DVD, so even the best of the best take some walk breaks .. that was on a 'runnable' fire trail too!!.  Best bet is to get up there and have a look around if possible Shocked)

There is plenty of runnable track.....but I'd say you'll be walking up the Golden Staircase, down Tarros Ladders, up to Ironpod Ridge and down (sliding on your bum), out of Green Gully in the Megalong Valley, up Neates Glen, down the Three Sisters, up to the Kings Tableland (9km uphill, I haven't seen anyone running but many crawling) and then there are many short inclines, steps, ladders especially on the last 10km. Good luck!!

Hey Craig,

I'd agree with Florian with a few additions, especially about the last 10km - it's a sucker:

1. the start is often non-runnable for a while, but due to congestion not terrain
2. you should be able to drop down the 3sisters/giant staircase pretty quickly if your quads/knees are up to it
3. Florian - did you mean Nellies glen?
4. depending on your comfort level - some people find the steepness dropping down through kings tableland to be pretty intimidating.

Good luck!
