Hi all,

Just a quick email to invite any other W.A. based runners giving TNF100 a crack in 2012, to get in touch and train with fellow like-minded sandgropers! I completed my first TNF100 this year and it was amazing! What i did find though, was that not having anyone to train with, left me lacking motivation around that 12 week stage of my program. Luckily, i came across a great group of Perth Hills runners and i was back on track. I managed to finish in 16hrs 34mins... not bad first up, considering i'd never even run a 1/2 marathon prior to starting my training!

This year we have managed to get a good group of about 10 of us who are all signed up and just starting our prep for next years big run. We have a wide range of running ability, from someone looking to go 12-13hrs to a couple just hoping to break 20hrs and take home that elusive Bronze belt buckle. We also live all over, North and South of the river. We hope to be able train together a couple of times a week, with mid week runs based anywhere from Kings Park, Jacobs Ladder / Mount St / Kokoda Track, to Bold Park or even my favourite out at Les Murdie Falls. We are then are hoping to arrange decent long weekend runs along either the Mundibiddi or Bib tracks and also are planning a few treks down south for some really decent hills... at the end of the day, the Perth HILLS hardly compare to the Blue MOUNTAINS!

So if you are keen, if it's your first or even fifth North Face and you just want to enjoy training with others all preparing for the same big adventure, then please do not hesitate to contact me. The more the merrier! It's always good to know that others are feeling the same pain that you are and sometimes it makes that pain a little less!

Cheers,

Dan

I'll be in for some of that. I've entered for the first time and am amped for it. Just finished six inch last week.
Thanks to working away all over the show regular training will be hard but I'll definitely try catching some of the longer runs.

Hey Dan, do you run with Jane Elton and those Running C Team members?  I'm doing Comrades again this year and have also signed up for TNF100 but only doing as a relay - figured good training for Comrades.
Although I'm not in Perth, if you are over this way and want to do any training runs on the course, let me know and I'll come and join you.  Are you coming over for 6ft trackin March?

Happy training and give my regards to Jane and the crew if out running with them!
Cheers
