TNF100 2012 - Camping & Travel

Hi,

Planning to make the 2012 event my first ultra - really looking forward to it.

I will need to do it on a budget however, and was thinking of flying to Sydney (from Melb) and campingnear the start/finish.

Just wondering if anyone who has done the event before can let me know if this is feasible - ie camp site realtively  near by?

Also, is there any transport from Sydney to the event site, ie shuttle bus etc? I would like to avoid renting a car if possible.

You can catch train from Sydney ( Central Station) to Leura / Katoomba ( 2/2.5 hours)
There are plenty of backpacker's around Katoomba or a caravan park. All you would need is to google accomodation Blue Mountains.
