Hey Guy
I found rain pants at Rays Outdoors for $25 last year

as for running gear , im a big fan of wearing a merino t-shirt  with a  thin wind stop jacket if needed that rolls away to nothing
I like the merino as when its wet its still very warm , and with the dew from plants along the trail edge the odds of getting wet are pretty high
for the bottom i wear merino shorts under my shorts  keeeping to layers to stay warm to stop wind chill on the higher parts of the course .
Im not a fan of skins etc , as i have found i get rather cold in them should they become wet
As for night --
When i reach the katoomba check point i leave a few different tops and bottoms in the drop bag . so i can make up my mind then , but i have found , wearing my thermal bottoms over my short merinos is always enough
As for the top , ill wear a 200 icebreaker and a  wind stop vest , and if im still cold wear my rain jacket over the top ..
this is a very warm combo
Hope this helps

hey osbert,

true, like i said when the sun goes down it is chilly, but for the most part during the day it was pleasant.

however it was beautiful weather, i just hope its the same this time round.

but your quite right, at night it did get cold and no doubt layers would help with that
