This is probably old news to some but I just realised that Kilian Jornet is competing in this years NF100! That seems pretty awesome to have such a world class athlete competing and it will be a privledge to be in the same race as him. What do you think his chances of winning are? An experienced runner I spoke to recently reckons he will easily do it in under 9 hours which is mind boggling considering a couple of phenomenal athletes did it in just under 10 hours last year.

in my opinion, he's gonna smash them all. He trains nd competes in much tougher terrain than the blue mountains.
time will tell

100kms is a long way and its a long day, Anything can happen! plus course knowledge and familarity is a serious advantage. On paper Kilian has it, but my money is on the local man Andy lee, by a nose! He just took out the Six foot track and is running really well.

Killian Jornet is undoubtedly the Worlds best, and his records precede him. I'd like to think that Andrew Lee will have the local knowledge, and he certainly has the right attitude. My Partner Jaci, and I passed him on the TNF trail during a training session a couple of weekends ago. He, of course was going the opposite way to us, but what a lovely bloke; stopped and had a yarn until we all started to get cold so thought we'd better get on our respective ways. Yeah, c'mon Andrew - 9hrs 30mins this year, mark my words!!!

Anyone know what happened to stuart gibson(last years joint winner) I just looked at the competitor list and noticed he is not on this year. Did he pull out or am I just blind? That would be a real shame.

Stu Gibson was on the list about a month ago but his name and Bib No. (2) is removed, Bib No. 4 (Which was allocated to David Waugh, 4th place finisher last year) is also removed.

Stu has got tendonitis. He was in awesome shape before the injury; guessing he may have been the quickest Aussie if fit. Sounds like Andrew Lee is in great shape, looks like he'll beat last year's time; all going well. Another strong hills runner Damon Goerke is running now too. He's based in Vic; from what I've heard is in great shape. Like Ian said earlier in the thread, I'd guess Kilian at between 8:55 to 9:10. His times on steep courses are insane. Shame we only see him run for the first 50 to 100mts (as he flies off) - and he'll be back at Leura for afternoon tea. 4 wks to go - excited.
