Hi all,

I have just had my first training run of any note since i did the Toowoomba marathon in October. I had a few niggling injuries after the race so wanted to give my body a rest. Trouble is now, I feel like I am starting all over again. I am not looking at breaking any records and will be happy to finish the race, but this morning felt terrible. I am going to put it down to just a bad day. Maybe, I tried to go too far, too hard and too soon. I went about 20k's on a hilly course. It's hard not to get excited when you read the website etc. Has anyone got any tips in relation to hill trainiing, which from looking at the maps and reading the blogs the hils look and sound like killers. Good luck to everyone in their training and I look forward to seeing you all on the start line feeling better than I did this morning.

Cheers,

Andy

Andy; feel secure that we all have days like that. I knocked over 30 last Sunday. Felt well on first half and struggled from 20k mark all the way home. I get really down when I have a bad day but when I go back over the training diary it's great to read comments about those other days when the hills felt like speed bumps, the feet felt like they were floating and the k's felt like they were just flying by. Those days are few and far between, as most of my days are a bit tough. But I truly know what a runner's high is and it keeps me running. Keep at it and see you in May.

Hey Andy,

I had one of those days today but i suppose all we can do try again next time big feller. I think what Matt said about having the journal is a good idea, i never thought about writing one but it'd be handy having something to reflect over. Hope the training/recovery is going well.

Thanks Matt and Will,

You have to have the bad days to appreciate the good ones I suppose. Keep up the training and I'll see you in May.

Cheers,

Andy
