Hello All TNF100 runners,

Thank you all for participating and thank you for all the great emails and feedback we have received.  Despite some initial trepidation - as I guess might be expected for a first event - it seems that everyone really enjoyed the event and appreciated the organisation.  We were very lucky with the weather.  It was a fantastic course set by Tom Landon-Smith - who has a great knack for setting amazing courses with his attention to detail.  He puts his heart and soul into every course design to ensure that it will be truly spectacular, enjoyable, challenging and yet inherently safe.

Congratulations to everyone who participated.  We were blown away by the times - with even the last runner coming in just over 25 hours - well under the 30 hour cut-off.  The winning times of Andrew Kromar of 10hours and 22minutes and leading female Heather Logie 12hours 45 minutes were just fantastic and way ahead of our expectations.  We were certainly doing some running ourselves to push ahead our estimated time schedules so we could keep pace!

Photos for purchase by Marathon Photos and split time results are on the web if you haven't already found them.  I am sure they will provide many nights of deliberating and discussions.

We would like to thank many of the people who helped make the event possible:
Of course The North Face - and particularly Paul Karis, Renee Awadalla and Daniel Wojciechowski; and our other event sponsors; Petzl, York Fairmont Resort, Runner's World, Endura, Bounce, Ducks Nuts, Thermarest, Euro Optics, Carboshotz, Fantastic Noodles, Little Creatures, Nice & Natural;  the 54 members of the Blue Mountains SES led by the great Costa Zakis and Frank Boyd, Lucas Trihey for his huge assistance in the many months leading up to the event and for designing, building and installing the ladders and to Peter Hodgkinson for camping out alone at the ladders from the Friday and to Josh, Andrew, Dylan and Ben for assisting Lucas and Peter with the ladder installation and removal.  Thanks also to the South Katoomba, Katoomba-Leura and Wentworth Falls Rural Fire Service Brigades, Blue Mountains Police Rescue, Katoomba Police for the lead car and NSW Ambulance Service for being prepared for anything.

There were quite a few different patches of land the event went through and we would like to thank the following for allowing the course to go through their great land: Blue Mountains National Parks and Wildlife Service, Blue Mountains City Council, The Six Foot Track Heritage Trust, The York Fairmont Resort, The Carlon Family, Galong Property (The Friend Family), Scenic World, Korowal School and the Sydney Catchment Authority.  We would also like to Acknowledge the Gundungarra and Darug people who are the traditional custodians of this Land.

And of course the other people who worked as slaves over the weekend: Diane Chanut, Bob & Drude Townsend, Ian, Nan & Elizabeth Landon-Smith, Kris Clauson, Josh, Louise Wojciechowski, Cassie Balk, Josie Cairns, Josh Witheford, Luke Campbell and Wayne Ross.  Thanks also to Nevenka Krajsek, Sean Greenhill and Nathan Timms for their assistance.

Special mention and thanks to Marcus Warner and Russell Trotter for selflessly stopping for a substantial period of time to help another competitor in distress.  Also to Cathy -team 'Q kayaks' support crew for helping us at 5AM on Sunday morning when we needed help the most and to Alex from team Blackheart Salomon and Matt Blundell (supporting Mike Snell) for helping set up CP5.  Also to the super friendly Kiwi and Tassie contingent as well as the other interstate and international runners for travelling so far for the inaugural event .

Again, thanks for all the great feedback and hope to see you all again for another event.

Cheers
Alina
