Folks,
Hope you are all training hard! Im sure this has been on the list before but i cannot find it - so apologies in advance:

Can anyone tell me what the rough weight of your backpack was when its full of the mandatory gear?

Why am I asking? Am visiting my chiropractor for advice on fitting a backpack and he will ask me the total gear weight...

Cheers folks and go hard!

The backpack I am currently looking at is a Camelbak Mule 18L. Keen to find out if anyone thinks this will be too small?

Hi Kent,
I used a Camelbak Mule in last years run and it held all the compulsory gear with 1.5lts in the bladder and a 500ml bottle as well, it was tightly packed and I may have struggled to fit in the extra 2 items for bad weather(waterproof pants and fleecytop) but I suspect if I needed these then I'd be wearing them not packing them!!!The pack has lots of pockets for the "bits and pieces" we need to carry.
I found it a very comfortable pack for the entire journey, it sat well on my shoulders and the strapes are easy to adjust on the go if it's riding too high or low. My pack weighed between 3-4kg...depended on how much water I decided to carry each leg, loved participating in the event last year and am looking forward to it this year. Awesome event.

Cheers,
Anne
