Also first up starter. Have done some shorter trail events recently (inc the Bogong Run couple of weeks ago - hell on earth) and still have some work to do.
I do some medium distance trail runs (10-25kms) around Kew some mornings. If anyone interested let me know.
I can also recommend the Dromana to Cape Trail as good training run reasonably close to Melb (28kms each way).
Cheers!

Hi All Dandenongs on the weekend sounds good. Alternatley I like the the Two Bays Trail (nice scenery) if up for a drive down the coast see: http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/resources05/05_0400.pdf . B2H was an "experience". I only did the 35km version which was all I planned on. Let me know proposed starting point. Cheers Adam

Hi all I also run around Melbourne, Yarra Bends Park or the Maribyrnong river mainly since I don't have a car. I would like to do the TNF100 but would be my first trail run this long, so any advice welcome, and if you're going for a run again I'm keen to join!

Hi Guy's I know this thread is a week old or so, but hoping people are active on it. I'm in Melbourne and Im registered for the NF100, so no going back. I've been training mainly on my own and looking to see if there is a way to hook up with people training for the race. I used to think I was funny until I started running by myself for long distances. Turns out I know all the jokes I tell myself.
Im runng around Mt Eliza and Churchill park on weekends and the Tan and Kew during the week. If there is anyone who is interrested in running then let me know.

Hi all, I'm also a Melbourne runner and this is my 2nd ultra, ran oxfam trailwalker last year. Currnetly doing long runs on my own of up to 4-5hrs, whereever I can. Keen to run with other people doing the TNF100 and to share stories and advice with. Look forward to meeting up with you all for a run soon? Also doing the Maroondah Dam 50k on the 21st, anyone else?
Cheers. Paddy

Hey Paddy
I few of us are also doing the Marrondah Dam race on the 21st which should be good great run and indicator for TNF100
We went for an amazing run at weekend from Dromana to Cape Shank and the Dandenongs the week before that, its something I think we will keep up once a week if you fancy it.
I don't know the confirmed location this week, but will email you the details will be great to see you, its a nice change running long distances with a group.... learning lots of stories and tipsalong the way!
Will keep you updated! Zara

Unfortunatly I'm away down the coast this weekend but will still be doing runs. So I guess I will have to try to meet up with you and others at Maroondah Dam. Enjoy your run this weekend and I'll see yo uat Maroondah.

Hi everyone,
My name is Phil and just stumbled across this forum and would love to get involved. I seem like a bit of a novice in comparison to you all. This will be my first ultra marathon and I would love to get involved in some of the runs you are doing.
I have been training quite solidly for about six months although after trying to hug a car door while on my bike just before Christmas I have only just started running again.
Unfortunately I don't have a car so transport is a bit of a problem but would love to get involved as I seem to be slowly becoming more and more obsessed with running the full distance!
Peace...
Phil
