I was planning to wear regular skins (long pants and top). Is it a suitable option to carry thermal arm and leg warmers (usually used for cycling) to put on over the skins instead of the carrying an extra pair of thermal pants and top? I will have a full jacket at CP4 for the night section.

Adrian
not sure if this will be suitable as the gear list specifies "proper" thermal gear - quite a few people ran with skins on last year initially but you still need the warm gear as it gets pretty cold on the night section.  Past 5 PM the temperture drops quite quickly so you need to make sure you got warm gear by that time.
I am not sure the warmers will do the job.

But you should probably wait for an "official answers" from the organisators

Good luck!

Hi Adrian,

Stephane is correct (Thanks Steph).  You do need to have proper thermal top and pants as specified in the mandatory gear list.  Skins or any other type of compression garment do not qualify as the thermal top and thermal pants as they are just made of lycra and when they are wet will actually cause you to lose body temperature.  You are welcome to have skins and arm warmers / leg warmers if you prefer to run in these but you must also carry the mandatory thermal top and pants as well as all the other mandatory gear.
Cheers,
Tom
